Forbidden Fruit

Michael Anastassiades

“No matter how many times a day I decide to consume a fruit, I am always fascinated by the moment when I am about to reveal the inside flesh”.
The pieces of the Forbidden Fruit series explore the idea of variation between the interior and exterior of objects. These pieces are inspired by the contrast that exists in a great variety of fruits, where the outside colour is different from the one inside. Created with an underlying logic that alludes to encapsulation and protection, these three objects establish a simultaneously contrasting and symbiotic connection between the different types of stone used.
