Resistance Venice was the first public presentation of the Resistance project, which focuses on the powerful resistance of certain Portuguese stones. It gathered the work of 5 international architects, exploring the physical and mechanical characteristics of Portuguese stones along with their unique beauty and colorations.

Resistance is divided into two phases. The first one was presented in Venice, during the 15th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.

The objects produced were exhibited in the gardens of the Istituto veneziano per la storia della Resistenza e della società contemporanea (Iveser), in the Villa Hériot, on Giudecca Island. The interior rooms presented the narrative of the process, including drawings, sketches, photographs and other materials, representing the relationship that the authors created with Portuguese Stone.

The visitors also had the opportunity of experiencing a digital light installation exploring the resistance of a specific stone towards light.

The exhibition was open from the 25th of May to the 2nd of October 2016.
